Second edition #storymakers event a big success!

Cherry LAB storymakers 2016

On the 17th of March, the second edition of our #storymakers event started in Hotel de Goudfazant right next to the Amsterdam IJ. With the sun shining, we welcomed the 130 influencers and 50 brands & destinations at our red carpet for a day full of knowledge sharing, networking and joy. We look back on this day full of proud.

De last preps: red carpet, badges and a drone!

Trendwatcher Tessa aan de Stegge kicked off the symposium of #storymakers with a welcome, followed by the results of the Cherry LAB online influencer research 2016 in which 130 influencers took part! The research concluded that online influencers are professionalizing and taking on new business models. Curious to the other outcomes? Read it in the summary of our research.

Next speakers up were  ‘one happy coconut island’ Aruba Tourism Authority and travel travel serach engine Skyscanner. One of Holland’s biggest online influencer Anna Nooshin (@annanooshin), answered questions from the crowd and Wesley Glasmacher explained the world of Instagram and his success with his social channel @wesinthewild. Finally, ANVR gave an insight in the trend research ‘how we travel in 2016’.

After the symposium, it was time for lunch: knowledge makes hungry! A lot of the online influencers, brands and destinations looked up the sun with their sandwich with smoked salmon, serrano ham, egg salad or a salad with almonds. Complemented with a healthy fruit shake for the needed vitamins, everyone seemed to be at their best for networking during the Shop & Stop Market.



With the 50 present brands & destinations, it couldn’t be something different than a varied and interesting Shop & Stop Market; with brands as Hard Rock Cafe Amsterdam, Mo Media, Jannissima and Lighthouse Works to destinations as Travel Alberta, Tirol, Oman and South-Limburg.

Also the Cherry LAB island was well represented with brands as Icelandair, DFDS, Eurocamp, Martinhal, Kitzbuhler Alpen, Merk Fryslân, Marketing Leeuwarden and Bries! The 130 influencers ‘shopped and stopped’ and collected their goodies in the one and only #storymakers goodiebag!

As final cherry on the cake, gave away a trip where the lucky online influencer had to be ready with PJ’s and toothbrush the next day. Leonie ter Veld (gewoonwateenstudentjesavondseet) won and flew to destination unknown the day after!
