Successful story: 1st edition #storymakers event!

With a big smile on our face, we look back at a successful first edition of our #Storymakers event last May 22nd. Nice location? Check. Cool brands and speakers? Check. Big turnout? Check. Happy faces? Double check!

The event took place in Hotel Arena in Amsterdam, a 4 * design hotel with an imposing church- and garden room specifically for parties and events. The first part of the event, the symposium, was kicked off with Tessa’s presentation of the long-awaited results of our bloggers research, in which eventually more than 200 bloggers participated (thumbs up to you!). In the hall were around 130 bloggers and some very happy cherry pickers 🙂

After Tessa’s presentation, speakers Anneke de Bundel from Nomad & Villager and Laura Coolen from What About Her took the stage to share their stories as inspiring storymakers in the field.

Then the stage was for the Curaçao Tourist Board. During their presentation ‘Blown Away’ they told about the way they have worked together with bloggers in the past, and what their plans are for the future. Meanwhile, there was created a huge buzz throughout the symposium on Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #storymakers. We even were almost trending topic!

After that it was time for Part 2: the Workshop, or the Stop & Shop market with all 30 cool brands and destinations that had acquired a booth at our event. Brands varying from VanMoof to Anita bras, destinations ranging from Visit Denmark to Jamaica, organizations ranging from Meet June to Pure Me Retreats and accommodations ranging from Landal Greenparks to Caribbean Reflections hotels. Of course we also had a nice Cherry Picker booth where we represented Motel One, Icelandair, Martinhal Beach Resort & Hotel, Alentejo, Eurocamp and our newest client DFDS.

All afternoon the bloggers could ‘shop’ in the different booths and get to know all brands. A nice impression:

Aruba brought something extra: coconuts!

And although the bloggers research showed that the majority of bloggers are women, we spotted some male bloggers 😉

Of course the Cherry Picker flavor was all around…

And the day was – as it should – ended with festive drinks for all attending brands. Work hard, play hard!
